MASTER PLAN FOR LIVE OAK PARK The City Council and Parks and Recreation Commission reviewed the proposed general plan for the development of Live Oak Park which had previously been submitted by the Parks and Recreation Commission'to'the City Council at their regular meeting held August 28, 1973. Several items pertaining to the location of facilities were discussed, i.e: a) The nature walk on the westerly portion of the park. b) The apparent overplanting with trees in the westerly half of the park restricting the amount of open space. c) The relocation of the tots play area and the recreation check out office to the southwest portion of the park which would necessitate an increase in the manpower needed to properly supervise the building complex in the north portion of the park. d) The desirability of relocating baseball facilities southerly if more property were available in the southeast portion of the park. It was the consensus of the Council and Commission that a modified development plan should be prepared, based on the assumption that additional land could be acquired in the southeast corner of the park. Staff was directed to prepare a revised plot plan which would include the land occupied by five homes in the southeast portion of the park and prepare an estimated budget for the acquisition of the additional property, removal of Glickman Avenue, and development of additional parking, both on the north and south side of the park. 4.
