A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AN AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT
BETWEEN THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AND AMERICAN LANGUAGE SERVICES TO
PROVIDE SPANISH TRANSLATION SERVICES FOR AGENCY AGENDAS ON A
MONTH-TO-MONTH BASIS FOR SIX MONTHS
WHEREAS, on April 18, 2006, the City Council authorized staff to issue a
Request for Proposals for Spanish translation services for agency agendas per
resolution 2006.064; and
WHEREAS, on July 31, 2006, the City retained the services of a American
Language Services to translate the short agendas of each agency into Spanish, in order
to facilitate access and understanding of City business by a greater number of residents
in the amount of $27,600 a year per resolution 2006.125; and
WHEREAS, the contract is set to expire on July 31, 2009.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE AND DETERMINE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council authorized the Mayor to execute an amendment to
the Agreement between the City of Lynwood and American Language Services to
provide Spanish translation services for agency agendas.
Section 2. The extension of the Agreement shall be in a form approved by the
City Attorney and not exceed six months for an amount not to exceed $13,800.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 7`h day of July, 2009.
