A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD SETTING
THE MONTHLY STIPEND FOR COMMISSION AND BOARD MEMBERS IDENTIFIED
IN THE LYNWOOD MUNICIPAL CODE AT $25
WHEREAS, Section 36506 of the State of California Government Code along
with Section 2-12.1 (b) of the Lynwood Municipal Code authorizes the City Council to set
the compensation of City of Lynwood Commission and Board Members by resolution or
ordinance; and
WHEREAS, The City of Lynwood currently has ten functioning Commissions and
Boards with varying membership numbers identified in the Lynwood Municipal Code;
and
WHEREAS, In general, the role of these members is to serve as an advisory
body to the City Council; and
WHEREAS, On June 16, 2009, the Lynwood City Council voted to decrease the
monthly stipend for all Commission and Board Members identified in the Municipal
Code from $50 to $25 and to bring back a resolution ratifying the decrease.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. This resolution shall supersede Resolution No. 2002.163 and all
other prior actions of the City Council setting the stipend for City of Lynwood
Commission and Board Members.
Section 2. The City Manager or his designee is authorized to carry out any
necessary transactions as so ordered by this resolution.
Section 3. That the monthly stipend for all City of Lynwood Commission and
Board Members identified in the Lynwood Municipal Code be set at $25 effective
beginning with the month of July 2009.
Section 4. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 7`h day of July, 2009.
