SUMMARY STATEMENT:
Many City offices, including 7 departments, over 42 staff and all City servers, share a single Frontier DSL
interne connection, in use since 2003. The connection is badly over allocated and causes frequent problems,
especially for the Police Department. There are few options available to the City. The next available
incremental increase in network capacity is a large one, but provides enterprise -level bandwidth and quality.
Other recent adopters of this service include Valley County and the local school district. The expense is
budgeted in FY07-08, and will be requested in the FY08-09 and FY09-10 Information Systems budgets.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve the agreement between Frontier Communications and the City of McCall for Metro Ethernet
services, and authorize the Mayor to sign all necessary documents.
