SUMMARY STATEMENT:
In 2006, the City applied for and was awarded funding for a flusher/deicer truck through the Congestion
Mitigation and Air Quality program administered through ITD for FY2009. The intent is to reduce the
amount of sand applied to City streets in the winter, thereby reducing particulate matter in the air during
street cleaning. The truck will also be able to apply water to unpaved streets, to reduce dust. The project
was expected to total approximately $200,000. Funding of $185,320 was awarded. The City is required to
have a 7.34% match, which is expected to be $14,680. Any cost increases when the truck is purchased will
be the responsibility of the City.
In order to accept the funding, ITD requires a state local agreement to be authorized and signed by the
Mayor. A copy of the agreement is attached. In addition, the City will be required to submit $500 to ITD to
pay for any administrative costs related to the project, which is due when the signed agreement is returned to
ITD.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve the agreement between ITD and the City of McCall for the CMAQ program funding for the
flusher/deicer truck and authorize the Mayor to sign all necessary documents.
