Animal Shelter Advisory Committee Meeting
Tuesday, March 15 2022
Members Present:
Dr. Greg Boyer, Chair Dr. Stacey Beddoe
Matthew Barry, Animal Control Manager Dr. Jessica Greene
Dr. Travis Schaller, Shelter Veterinarian Dustin Birch, Associate City Attorney
The Animal Shelter Committee met for a regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday March 15 at 12:20 p.m. in the
Conference Room, Jefferson City Animal Shelter, 2308 Hyde Park Road, Jefferson City Missouri. The meeting was called
to order by Dr. Boyer, Chair.
Approval of Minutes
Dr Stacey Beddoe moved to approve the minutes from the previous meeting. Dr. Boyer seconded the motion.
Staff Reports
Matthew Barry introduced new Animal Control Officers Angela Crabtree and John Cline.
Dr. Schaller advised that the number of animal intakes was keeping up with adoptions allowing the overall population at
the Shelter to remain manageable.
Written Correspondence
There was no Written Correspondence to discuss.
Old Business
There was no old business to disscuss.
New Business
The current Cremation Fees for Private Cremations were discussed.
Dustin Birch advised cremation fees needed to be itemized on customer bills at Veterinary Clinics and the Shelters fees
will also be posted on the City’s Web Site so they are available to the public. He explained the reason for this is because

the service being provided by the City and the fees collected need to be available for public viewing in accordance to the
Sunshine Law.
Dr. Boyer requested that everything that is going to be required by the City to be put in writing and he would present
the requirement to the other Clinics to utilize the City service.
Dr Beddoe asked when this would need to be implemented and July 1st was the date given. Dr. Beddoe asked what
happen if the bills were not itemized and Dustin Birch advised then they would not be given access to the City’s
Crematorium.
Dr Boyer requested another meeting once he can present the requirement to other Veterinary Clinic’s that utilize the
City crematorium and get their input. He will come up with a date for that meeting at a later time.
