Chad Stieferman Dr. Ashley French The Animal Shelter Committee met for a regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday June 21 at 12:30 p.m. in the Conference Room, Jefferson City Animal Shelter, 2308 Hyde Park Road, Jefferson City Missouri. The meeting was called to order by Dr. Boyer, Chair. Approval of Minutes Dr Boyer moved to approve the minutes from the previous meeting. Dr. Greene seconded the motion. Staff Reports Matthew Barry introduced new Animal Control Officer Tom Storms. Dr. Schaller advised there had been several cases of panleukopenia in the cats that have been coming into the Animal Shelter. The cats are coming from one person who drops off a lot of cats at the Shelter. Dr. Schaller stated that he and the rest of the staff are working on controlling the issue with the cats coming in from this individual. Dr. French brought up that there had been a positive rabies case in a nearby county in a cat and that several people were exposed. Dr. Schaller advised he would be out for 2 weeks and the near future and Dr. Popp would be doing relief work at the Shelter in his absence. Written Correspondence There was no Written Correspondence to discuss. Old Business Minutes Animal Shelter Advisory Committee Meeting Tuesday, June 21 2022 Dr. Boyer asked where we stood on the Cremation Contract that had been previously discussed. Matthew Barry stated he had spoken the Associate City Attorney Birch and he was told that it is no longer an issue. Dr. Boyer brought up that the current fee’s that are posted on the City’s website for contracted veterinary services needs to be up dated. Lt. Stieferman advised that the fees are taken from a contract that renews every year and that if there are things that needed to be updated to contact Associated City Attorney Dustin Birch. Dr. Boyer and Dr French advised there should be an explanation of what the fees posted on the City’s website. Dr. Boyer stated he would like to revisit the fee schedule.
