SUMMARY STATEMENT:
For nearly 70 years, the University of Idaho has provided educational opportunities for students and the public from its
field campus located in the McCall City limits. The Ponderosa Institute would have three primary purposes: 1) youth
education; 2) adult and community education, and 3) professional and continuing education.
The University of Idaho is requesting another letter of support of a continued UI presence in McCall, and the
Ponderosa Institute vision for the future of the Field Campus located adjacent to Ponderosa State Park. The
Department of Lands is considering a significant rent increase for the Field Campus property. The Attorney General
made his recommendation to the land board for the Field Campus and stated to demand the full rent within 30 days.
The land board votes on August 19, 2008.
Attached is a second letter of support from the Council, the first letter of support from the Council, the letter from the
Attorney General, IDL Financial Analysis of the McCall Field Campus, and the University's Financial Analysis.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Sign the letter of support to send to the State Land Board in support of the continued UI presence on the property.
