Leesburg, VA (December 21, 2017) – Leesburg residents can put their live Christmas trees at the curb for recycling collection in January. The Town’s trash collection contractor, ESI, will collect Christmas trees on the following days: SE/SW Quadrants Thursday, January 4, and Monday, January 8, 2018 NE/NW Quadrants Tuesday, January 2, and Tuesday, January 9, 2018 Residents should prepare their trees for collection, using these tips:  Remove all decorations. Check carefully for items hidden behind thicker branches or limbs.  Remove tinsel, fake snow, angel hair and garlands.  Remove all lights.  Remove all twine, metal or plastic ties, and string.  Remove stands and bases.  Do not place trees in plastic tree disposal bags.  Place trees at the curb the night before collection day . Before January 2 and after January 9, town crews will collect live trees during brush collection, as long as tree trunks are less than 6 inches in diameter.
