Christmas Tree Recycling for Leesburg Residents
ESI will collect live Christmas trees during the first two weeks of January from
curbside trash customers.
Leesburg, VA (December 21, 2017) – Leesburg residents can put their live Christmas trees at
the curb for recycling collection in January. The Town’s trash collection contractor, ESI, will
collect Christmas trees on the following days:
SE/SW Quadrants Thursday, January 4, and Monday, January 8, 2018
NE/NW Quadrants Tuesday, January 2, and Tuesday, January 9, 2018
Residents should prepare their trees for collection, using these tips:
Remove all decorations. Check carefully for items hidden behind thicker branches or
limbs.
Remove tinsel, fake snow, angel hair and garlands.
Remove all lights.
Remove all twine, metal or plastic ties, and string.
Remove stands and bases.
Do not place trees in plastic tree disposal bags.
Place trees at the curb the night before collection day .
Before January 2 and after January 9, town crews will collect live trees during brush collection,
as long as tree trunks are less than 6 inches in diameter. Trees must be placed at the curb by
Sunday evenings for collection that week.
