SUMMARY STATEMENT:
In 2008, the City attorney, ICRMP, and Hartwell worked with staff to develop a short term lease of art
projects placed in McCall, which we will insure for the value stated by the artist. The first art piece to be
insured are metal fishes, created by Phil Wilcomb, and are placed in front of Toll Station Pizza, on Railroad
Drive. The policy to insure public art pieces was requested by the City Council in 2004.
The McCall Arts & Humanities Council (MAHC) has secured an additional piece of art by Amber Conger
to be displayed in Legacy park. The value of the art piece, estimated by the artist, is $5000. The piece will
be insured once the attached lease agreement has been approved by Council.
Attached is a digital image of the piece "Flux" by artist Amber Conger that the MAHC is planning to install
in Legacy Park this fall. Ms. Conger is a very well-known Idaho artist, and has recently completed a large
installation in Meridian's new City Hall. Also attached is the lease agreement.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve the Personal Property Lease Agreement and authorize the Mayor to sign all necessary
documents.
