SUMMARY STATEMENT:
Staff presented a summary of the REEZ grant program and a potential solar energy project to the McCall
City Council on September 10, 2009. Since that time, staff has informed area businesses of the grant
project, offering them an opportunity to have their building assessed to determine if the solar project was
applicable. As of October 14, 2009, 10 area businesses, two non -profits, and two City Departments (Golf
Course and Airport) have agreed to have their buildings assessed for solar power. Idaho Solar Power is
completing the property reviews and assessments. Staff met with Blake Watson of Idaho Power, who is in
support of the project, and are currently determining total cost, match requirements, partnerships, and other
grant requirements. A summary of the proposal's status will be available at the City Council meeting on
October 22, 2009.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Review the staff report on the REEZ proposal status and authorize the Mayor to sign all necessary
documents for the final grant proposal submission.
