SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The Public Works Department requires two Loaders and one Grader for winter snow removal. Bids were
solicited for rental of this equipment, and one bid was received from CESCO. The CESCO bid was
$3,450/month for a 624 Loader with snow bucket, $3,950 for a 644 Loader (no snow bucket), and
$3,700/month for a 772 Grader with snow wing. Any hours over 100 hours/month will be charged at
standard hourly rate for each piece of equipment. The rental term begins November 1, 2009 and is a month -
to -month rental for each piece of equipment. We anticipate needing the 624 Loader & the Grader for five
months, and the 644 Loader for four months.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve rental of winter snow removal equipment from CESCO, and authorize the Mayor to sign all
necessary documents.
