SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The State Historic Preservation Office provides grants to communities which are designated as Certified
Local Governments in regards to their efforts toward historic preservation. McCall is a designated CLG and
has received several CLG grants in the past. The National Alliance of Preservation Commissions will have
its annual conference and training in Grand Rapids, Michigan in July, 2010. Two preservation members
and one City staff member would like to attend the training. This training is an eligible activity for CLG
grant funds. The grant would pay for airfare, registration, and some lodging (total up to $2000), and the
Historic Preservation Commission support line would pay for per -diem, ground travel, lodging, and
miscellaneous expenses. City match is also an in -kind match from staff and volunteer time. If City funding
is limited, then two Historic Preservation members only will attend the training.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve submission of Certified Local Government grant for NAPC training for Historic Preservation
Commission members and one City staff person, and authorize the Mayor to sign all necessary
documents.
