Pocket parks and other beautification projects are components of the MIC's annual action plan. This pocket park would consist of a paver area, ADA compliant paver ramp, some low landscaping, and a bench, and would be entirely funded by the MIC. The Parks Dept. has agreed to be responsible for the ongoing minor maintenance of the park. A photo of the area is attached. The project site lies on property owned by the Ventress Family Living Trust. This summer, Idaho Power sought and was granted an easement from the Ventress Family Living Trust for the existing power box on the property. The survey for the easement is attached. The survey was done by Idaho Power. It is proposed that the City seek a landscaping easement from the Ventress Family Living Trust for the purpose of installing the pocket park, using the same area as obtained for the Idaho Power easement. Staff has consulted with Jason Ventress, representative, and he is in favor of the pocket park and landscaping easement. A draft of the easement is attached, and has been reviewed by the City Attorney. The easement has been reviewed by Mr. Ventress and his legal representation. RECOMMENDED ACTION: Pursue a landscaping easement from the Ventress Family Living Trust for the purpose of installing a pocket park. Accept the landscaping easement if and when granted by the Ventress Family Living Trust. RECORD OF COUNCIL ACTION Meeting Date ACTION
