SUMMARY STATEMENT:
A grant award for this item will likely be coming within the next two weeks, or sooner. We normally have a
very short window in which to accept (sign) the grant offer and send it back to FAA. Bids were opened on
May 20 with three bids received. Work to be completed under this grant include rehabilitation work on
taxiway "A" and "A-2" from the runway edge east to taxiway "H", and taxiway "H" and "H" extended. This
does not add or relocated any pavement. The apparent low bidder is Granite Excavators of Cascade who
will utilize Valley Paving of McCall for aggregate and asphalt. The bid was approximately $586,909. Of
this, over $544,000 will be spent in Valley County and/or McCall. Additional expenses of about $2,875 for
Airport expenses all ready paid, and approximately $163,076 of engineering expenses will bring the total
grant offer to $752,861, subject to availability of funds. Work will be managed to assure that we do not
exceed the available dollars.
The grant must be accepted within 15 Days of Grant Award Contract with Contractor, and within 30 days of
Grant Award Notice to Proceed must occur. Construction will likely start in late June or early July.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Accept the Grant offer for AIP 3-16-0023-16 and authorize the Mayor to sign all necessary documents.
