RESOLUTION OF'I'1IE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF '111E MIDI'ENINSIJI.A REGIONAL OPEN SPACE DISTRICT
ENDORSING THE SANTA CLARA COUNTY
PARKS CHARTER ANIENDMEN1' EX -FEN ;ION
MEASURE A ON 'ME MARc1126, 1996 BALLOT
WIIEREAS, the Board of Directors ol'the Midpenimula Regional Open Space District finds that
preservation, maintenance, and enhancement of•public parks and open space is of vital environmental,
social, and economic interest to the citizens ol•our communities; and
WHEREAS, Santa Clara County parklands and parks programs arc essential in providing these public
services and in meeting the parks needs of County residents., and
WHEREAS, Measure A on the March 26. 1996 Santa Clara County ballot would extend the current County
Parks Charter amendment through the year 2008. providing an assured level of funding for Santa Clara
County parks acquisition, development, and operation witho' it creating any new taxes; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Directors of the Midpeninsula Regional Open
Space District supports and endorses Measure A on the March 26. 1996 Santa Clara County ballot.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Directors of the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District on
January 24, 1996 at a regular sleeting thereof, by the following vole:

Nonette Hanko, Mary Davey, Betsy Crowder, Wim de Wit, Ernestine Henshaw,
and David Smernoff
