SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The Public Works Department requires the short-term rental of a Loader, to replace a broken 1976 Loader.
The repair cost to fix the 33 year old Loader is $20,000. The short-term solution is to rent a Loader in order
to plow snow. The City snow plow routes cannot be completed in one day without a Loader to replace the
broken Loader. CESCO has a 544J Loader available for immediate rental at $2,400/month, on a month -to -
month basis. We expect to need the Loader 1-2 months, depending on weather conditions.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve month -to -month rental, for anticipated period of 1-2 months, of 544J Loader from CESCO, and
authorize the Mayor to sign all necessary documents.
