I. Call to order— 7:08 p.m.
A. Commissioners present —Galen Bruer (Chair), Randy Hughes (Vice
Chair) Brad Kvanbek (Secretary), Gerry Dykhoff, Tom Gregor, and Ray
Essendrup.
B. Also present — Carolyn Smith and Jim Dillman
II. Additions to agenda. — None
III. Approval of last meeting's minutes. — Approved Business.
A. Updates
1. Morningside — None.
2. Independence Beach — None.
3. Maple — None.
4. Holy name — Nothing.
5. Hunter — None
6. Legion Park - None
B. Park Contributions — Reviewed Lion's figures, $350,000.00 plus interest
is the agreed amount. Discussed balance for Hamel Legion Park. Carolyn
has been working with accountant on a spread sheet. Carolyn will get the
amount of interest in account and other detail.
C. Trails Study —
1. Discussed Galen's working draft. Galen will email it to those of us with
email. Each committee will attempt to complete details and make additions
to the scope. We may want to report on the number of households that
would connect via the trail under consideration. Carolyn gave us the cities
comprehensive plan which includes trails. We will address 2001 city-wide
survey regarding trails.
2. Northeast trail committee - Sioux Drive trail was discussed at last city
council meeting. Survey of the residents maybe warranted, as we
discussed on 10-16-02. 101 trail north of 55 has minor change.
3. West trail committee — will contact property owner, Michael Seeland.

D. DNR grant program — reviewed and discussed.
1. Application may be made for "local trail connections" for Sioux Drive
trail. Jim will get estimate from professional grant writer and submit
application request
E. West Lutheran High School, 3350 Harbor Lane Plymouth, Request for
public/private venture — They sent letter. They are looking for land for a
running track, football field with parking. Jim will invite Rick Doering, 952-
946-5210, to meet with park commission.
F. Discussed meeting with planning committee and what to expect. Better
communication is needed. All of us should go.
IV.Adjourn — 9:00 p.m. Next meeting, December 18, 2002.
V. Joint meeting with Planning Committee on December 10, 2002 at
7:OOpm.
VI.City of Medina Christmas Party at city hall, December 12th 5:30 p.m.
