Quinn, Chief of Fire and Bridget Bean, Acting Assistant Administrator for Grant Programs, Department of Homeland Security regarding the approval of the Town's application for funding under the Federal Fiscal Year 2018 Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) in the amount of$70,000. The Federal share is $63,636 and the local match requirement is $6,364. As stated within Chief Quinn's correspondence, "the grant is for the replacement of our fill station for refilling the air bottles of our Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA). We are very excited to update this piece of equipment which is over 20 years old. This grant will help us to better comply with current NFPA standards for SCBA fill stations." Therefore, in order to be in compliance with the local match requirement, I respectfully request the attached transfer be placed on the September 24, 2019 Town Council Agenda. This grant is for the replacement of our fill station for refilling the air bottles of our Self Contained Breathing Apparatus(SCBA).
