A RESOLUTION OF THE LYNWOOD REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY
OF LYNWOOD AUTHORIZING CITY STAFF TO ISSUE , A REQUEST FOR
PROPOSALS FOR GRAFFITI REMOVAL SERVICES IN DESIGNATED AREAS IN
THE CITY
WHEREAS, with the current environment relating to City staff removing graffiti
becoming unsafe and requiring law enforcement intervention Council has authorized
staff to research the feasibility of outsourcing this service; and
WHEREAS, the City currently utilizes in-house staff to perform graffiti removal
services for the entire city from the public's right of way including major thoroughfares,
city property, city signs, businesses, residences, alleys, sidewalks, trees and utility
boxes and fire hydrants; and
WHEREAS, several cities have optioned to have this services outsourced; and
WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood is proposing to outsource a portion of the graffiti
removal services through funding from the Redevelopment Agency and CDBG funding;
and
WHEREAS, a savings of $68,280 would be realized by the General Fund if a
portion of this work were contracted out.
NOW, THEREFORE THE LYNWOOD REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY
DOES HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE, ORDER AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Agency Board authorizes Staff to solicit requests for proposals
for graffiti removal services. ~,w i ' ~ ` • 'r'= ` '• . _
Section 2. The Secretary shall certify to the passage and adoption of this
Resolution.
