January 6 1948
Mayor Fullmer called the meeting to order at 8:15 r. 7.
Those present:Burman,Burroughs,Patterson,Sivers,Clary & Widmaier.
The communications only contained the prices of tractors and these
were filed.
Sherriff Kill and Mr.Tegtman were present and gave their views
concerning how the Mexican drinking trouble could be handled.They thought
ti'ere should be a day marshal on duty but did not know where one could be
hiredat this time.They said that they were wi' ling to come ap when they
were needed but did not want to come in if the town could handle the
trouble.
Mr.Carr,tractor salesrnan,was present and :after he left:Widmaier moved,
Burman seconded:To table the question of buying a tractor until a
future meeting.Motion carried. Burman,Burroughs,Clary & Widmaier voted
yes,Sivers and Patterson voted no.
The building of an addition to the kitchen of the library was held up,
according to it .Patterson who had taken the matter up with the Lions Club.
Street & Alley Chairman Clary stated that he and three other men had been
down to see the State Engineer about the traffic danger at the crossing
of HW.85 and 14 .He said that there was not enough traffic to warrant
pttting in a light and that if were put in the Town would have to pay for
it.The State only recommended 3 companies tp put in lights.
The finance committee examined these bills and approved the same:
