HomeMy Public PortalAbout114-2000 - 2001 Budget - Police/Fire SalariesORDINANCE NO. 114-2000 AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE TO BE KNOWN AS THE 2001 FIREFIGHTER AND POLICE OFFICER SALARY ORDINANCE WHEREAS, Indiana Code 36-8-3-3(d) requires Common Council to fix the annual compensation of all police officers and fire fighters; and WHEREAS, the City of Richmond Board of Pubic Works & Safety and John Hennigar Lodge No. 63 of the Fraternal Order of Police have reached an agreement on salary levels for 2001; and WHEREAS, the City of Richmond and Richmond Professional Firefighters, Inc. AFL-CIO Local 1408 have reached an agreement on salary levels for 2001, which agreement shall be formally executed by the Board of Public works & the Richmond Professional Firefighters, Inc. AFL-CIO Local 1408 in December, 2000. NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, that the following positions be compensated not in excess of the respective sums hereafter set forth during the calendar year 2001, to wit: Section 1 – Police Department Position Current Salary 2001 Salary 2001 Bi-weekly Salary 1.01 Captain 34,213.00 37,662.00 1,448.54 1.02 Lieutenant 33,188.00 36,571.00 1,406.58 1.03 Sergeant 32,163.00 35,479.00 1,364.58 1.04 Investigator 30,626.00 33,842.00 1,301.62 1.05 Patrolman 29,088.00 32,204.00 1,232.62 1.06 Additional Compensation. In addition to the bi-weekly salaries set forth in Sections 1.01 through 1.05 above, all benefits agreed upon in the agreement dated September 11, 2000 and between the Board of Works and Pubic Safety on behalf of the City of Richmond, Indiana and John Hennigar Lodge No. 63 of the Fraternal Order of Police are hereby incorporated by reference. Section 2 – Fire Department Position Current Salary 2001 Salary 2001 Bi-Weekly Salary 2.01 Inspector 33,571.24 35,223.00 1,354.73 2.02 Lieutenant 33,571.24 35,223.00 1,354.73 2.03 Engineer 32,341.46 33,870.00 1,302.69 2.04 Firefighter 31,008.96 32,404.00 1,246.31 2.05 Prob. Firefighter 27,555.30 28,795.26 1,107.51 Additional Compensation. In addition to the bi-weekly salaries set forth in Sections 2.01 through 2.05 above, all benefits agreed upon in the Professional Negotiation Agreement to be entered into between the City of Richmond, Indiana and Richmond Professional Firefighters, Inc. AFL-CIO Local 1408 are hereby incorporated by reference. 2.08 The salaries and benefits set forth in this Section 2 shall be contingent upon the Board of Public Works and the Richmond Professional Firefighters, Inc. AFL-CIO Local 1408 executing the previously agreed upon Professional Negotiation Agreement.
