CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Ron Fitzwater called the June 20, 2023 City Council “Pre-Meeting” to order at 5:45 P.M.
to review the agenda.
ATTENDANCE
The following Councilmembers were present when the meeting convened:
Present: Ahlers, Deeken*, Hensley*, Lester, Mealy, Schwartz, Spencer, Wright
Absent: Spicer and Wiseman
*Participated virtually
DISCUSSION OF AGENDA ITEMS
Councilmember Schwartz will lead the prayer.
Presentations from Staff, Consultants & Invited Guests
- A Salute to America update will be provided by Samantha Schwartz.
- Chris Leuckle, Parks & Recreation Commissioner will provide a JC Parks update.
Announcements
- Councilmember Mealy would like to announce the Hope for Heroes 5K
Consent Agenda
- There were no questions at this time.
Bills Introduced
- City Staff presented their introduced bills. Councilmember Spencer (sponsor of the bills)
will request to suspend the rules on the following: bills 2023-018, 2023-019, 2023-021
and 2023-022.
Bills Pending
- City Staff presented their pending bills. Due to the absence of a couple councilmembers,
Councilmember Spencer intends to place bill 2023-017 related to Bird Scooters on the
informal calendar.
Closed Session
- A closed session is scheduled for tonight.
