A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
AUTHORIZING STAFF TO SOLICIT PROPOSALS FOR THE PROFESSIONAL
UTILITY USER'S TAX'COMPLIANCE AUDITS
WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood desires to solicit proposals for Utility
User's Tax Compliance Audits; and
WHEREAS, Utility User's Tax Compliance reviews are a specialized area
of auditing in which a few companies have the experience and capacity to
perform this task successfully; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to recover revenue owed to the City due to
underpayment and/or corrections of tax collections of Utility User's Tax Revenue.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER, AND
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council authorizes staff to solicit proposals for utility
user's tax compliance audits.
Section 2. That the Mayor is authorized to execute an agreement to
perform the audits once staff has selected a firm to undertake the work.
Section 3. That this resolution shall become effective immediately upon
adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 4th day of August, 2009.
