New Town Hall Exhibit Features Winter Themed Quilts
The exhibit will be on display through February 2023.
Leesburg, VA (December 1, 2022) – The Leesburg Commission on
Public Art (COPA) is pleased to announce a new art display currently
available for viewing on the first floor of Leesburg Town Hall (25 West
Market Street).
“Winter in My Backyard” features approximately 11 quilts created by
local artists. Each one measures 21” x 21” and will depict winter
scenes that one might see in the backyard or around Town.
“I love to design original art quilts and quilted wall hangings but have
grown to appreciate fellow quilters art work when they are
challenged,” said Renelda Peldunas-Harter who has been quilting for over 40 years. “I love this exhibit
because 11 talented and creative quilters took the challenge and it inspired them to create such unique
and pleasing quilts.”
The exhibit will run through February 2023. It can be viewed Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5
p.m.
The first floor lobby and hallway of the Leesburg Town Hall features rotating exhibits by Leesburg and
Loudoun artists. Those interested in having their work considered for a future exhibit should contact Leah
Kosin, staff liaison to the Commission on Public Art, at lkosin@leesburgva.gov.
