IACP Seeks Community Feedback On Next
Leesburg Chief of Police
Leesburg, VA (January 13, 2023) – The Town of Leesburg has hired the International
Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) to conduct an executive search for the next Chief of Police
for the Leesburg Police Department.
The Chief of Police is a highly visible and influential leader, impacting many aspects of the
community. Community members, police leaders, and elected officials all have a crucial role to
play in enhancing and improving community-police engagement. Part of that is establishing
shared expectations between the police and the community it serves.
As the IACP works to define the qualifications of the ideal candidate, in cooperation with the
Town of Leesburg, it is essential to understand and incorporate the input of the Leesburg
community. To that end, the IACP is releasing a survey to gather community feedback to help
develop characteristics and qualifications of an ideal candidate. Survey participation is
voluntary and responses are confidential.
The survey can be accessed at www.research.net/r/LeesburgVACommunity and will be open
until Sunday, February 5, 2023.
