Water Line Replacement Work in Leesburg to Begin on
Monday, January 8, 2018
Leesburg, VA (January 2, 2018) – Construction work to replace water main and service lines
(pipes from the water main to individual customer meters) along West Market Street and
Edwards Ferry Road NE will begin on Monday, January 8, 2018.
Water main and service lines will be replaced on West Market Street, between Memorial Drive
and Wirt Street. Service lines will be replaced on Edwards Ferry Road, between Catoctin Circle
and Mayfair Drive.
During construction, these sections of roadway will be reduced to one lane, with alternating
traffic controlled by flag crews. Drivers should be alert to the change in traffic patterns and
follow flag crew directions. Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes where possible.
Construction will be limited to Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., in order to avoid
the morning and afternoon rush hours.
The construction schedule may be affected by inclement weather or equipment issues. Updates
will be posted to the Town website and social med ia accounts as necessary.
