A quorum was present.The Cemetery Resources Board met on Thursday, June 15,2023 at 9:00 a.m. in the Thomas JeffersonRoom, lower level of the John G. Christy Municipal Building, 320 E. McCarty Street, Jefferson City,Missouri.Approval of the Minutes:A motion was made for approval of the minutes from the April 13, 2023 meeting by Jeanette Dulle, DanaDeWeese seconded. Minutes were approved.Communications Received:David Greliner stated that Pam Wren and Pat Rowe Kerr decided not to renew for another term for theCemetery Resources Board. He also stated thatTavonna Robinson is being recommended forappointment at the next City of Jefferson Council Meeting.Old Business:Rebecca Gordon discussed the Cemetery Open House for 2023 with those present at the meeting. Sheexplained the purpose of the Cemetery Open House and how it functioned in the past. Rebeccaexplained how the event was set up. David Greliner produced the previous pamphlet and map from thelast cemetery tour. Rebecca stated the time for the event will be 10:00 a.m.-l:00 p.m. Board memberstalked about soliciting help from community members and organizations and who they can contact.Dana DeWeese discussed the possibility of having music at the event. Board members discussedadvertising of the event with partners including the Historic City of Jefferson, Cole County HistoricalSociety, radio, web pages, and local media such as the News Tribune.
David Grellner gave update on preserving gravestone information project. Some of the grave stoneshave been selected, but a few substitutions will need to be made because information could not beobtained from the gravestones.New Business:There was no new business at this time.Other Topics and Issues:Rebecca Gordon ask members to look for new Cemetery Board Members. There can be up to sevenmembers on the City of Jefferson Cemetery Resources Board.The next Cemetery Resources Board meeting was set for Thursday, July 20, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. in theThomas Jefferson Conference Room at City Hall.Adjournment:With no further business, the meeting was adjourned.Respectfully submitted,David Grellner
