Doug Ruediger David Bange Tia Griffin Taylor Roettgen Guest(s): Katrina Williams, Jonathan Fitch The meeting was called to order by Chairman Ryan Towner at 8:15 a.m., a quorum was present at that time. 1. Introduction With a new commissioner upon late arrival all present commissioners made a warm welcome to Rowland Howard. 2. Acceptance of the August 4, 2022 meeting minutes A few commissioners pointed out a few errors such as miss-spelling and added vowels typed out on last meeting minutes, all errors have been updated and fixed. Mr. Towner made a motion to approve last months minutes; Mr. Brooks seconded the motion; All members were in favor. 3. New Business a) TAP GRANT (David Bange) Mr. Bange started out with more detailed information about the idea of the bicycle/pedestrian committee with background information to bring to our attention- including the history of our sidewalks; our Jefferson City bike loop (a way finding plan to create a 17-mile bike loop around Jefferson City); Lastly information about the TAP grant applications that were submitted and just recently finding out we will be rewarded the grants. Mr. Bange presented a lengthy presentation with interesting facts about the history Approved September 1, 2022 of Jefferson City’s sidewalks, he also informed us more about what we were doing with that grant - A few things he spoke about was adding pavement markings on streets that are less than 35 mph, making room to have an official bike lane for safe riding, then he showed a presentation about what symbol signs are placed in bike lanes which have been placed about three months ago prior to the meeting. b) Capitol Area Active Transportation Plan (Katrina Williams) Ms. Williams began with a power point of information for the Capitol Area Active in the power point she gave CAMPO’s project goals with their objectives for the project, information about Public engagement, funding, a timeline of the goals from Summer 2022 all the way to Summer 2023. Included in the power point were the Capital Area Pedestrian & Bicycle Plan that was adopted on October 19, 2016. She also mentioned that CAMPO’s consultants are Craft and Toll who are out of Arkansas as we also have a sub- consultant called Lane Shift. Ms. Williams wants to make sure that the Capitol Area Active Transportation Plan has enough information so that others are able to use the tools for education and programing, she then explained our planning documents aren’t owned by the government and the documents belong to our community as a whole. Ms. Williams also encouraged members to take the Capitol Area Active Transportation Plan Survey (www.surveymonkey.com/r/CAATPsurvey1), and challenged them to ask at least one other person to take the survey. After the consultant evaluates the survey’s and input received at meetings, Ms. Williams will share the results with this Commission. 4) Old Business 5) Other Business Karl Staub was not able to join the committee on August 4th due to a WebEx failure. 6) Adjourn A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Chairman Ryan Tower, seconded by Stephen Brooks.
