Minutes – February 09, 2023
The meeting was called to order at 12:02 p.m.

Approval of November 03, 2022 minutes
Troy Pinkerton moved to approve the minutes from the November 03, 2022 Board meeting. The
motion was seconded by Stacey Backues and passed on a voice vote.
Old Business
No old business was brought forward.
New Business
Lieutenants Stiefermann and Williams briefed the Board on the current status of the Department’s
staffing:
There are currently 11 Police Officer vacancies out of an authorized strength of 91 commissioned
officers. There is currently one officer attending the academy and four applicants, all of whom have
either passed the written examination or currently have a current POST certification.
The Communications section currently has 5 Vacancies out of an authorized strength of 20, with 2
applicants having received conditional offers of employment.
There is currently one vacancy in Animal Control with 2 applicants being reviewed, and one vacancy for
a veterinary technician with 3 applicants being reviewed.
The Records Section has reopened the application process for a part-time clerk position.
Lt. Stiefermann advised the next testing is scheduled for March 06, 2023.
Begin Closed Session
Pete Fleischmann moved to go into a closed session at 12:03 p.m. pursuant to RSMo. 610.021. The
motion was seconded by Mark McCarthy. The motion passed with a roll call vote as follows:

Stephanie Scruggs moved to come out of closed session at appx. 12:20 p.m. The motion was seconded
by Troy Pinkerton. The motion passed by the following roll call vote:

Other Business
Lieutenants Stiefermann and Williams gave an update on the progress of the Probationary Officer
currently attending the academy.
Chief Wilde updated the Board on progress regarding obtaining and implementing body cameras.
Negotiations for the lease of body cameras is in progress and it is anticipated training on their use will
begin within the next 90 days if all goes as expected.
The next regularly scheduled meeting is March 09, 2023 at 12:00 p.m.

Mark McCarthy moved to adjourn the meeting, which was seconded by Stacey Backues. The motion
passed on a voice vote. Meeting was adjorned at 12:30 p.m.
