Town Hall until February 28, 2018.
Leesburg, VA (January 16, 2018) – The Leesburg
Commission on Public Art is pleased to announce a new art
exhibit on the first floor in the Leesburg Town Hall at 25
West Market Street. The works featured are from Pam
Smith’s graphic communication classes at C.S. Monroe
Technology Center. The mixed media exhibit includes
photographs, ink drawings, oils, lithographs, and pastels.
An artists’ reception is planned for Friday, February 2,
2018, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Graphic communications is a two-year program offered to
11th and 12th grade students. The program introduces the
student to the graphic communication industry and
provides technical training in design and digital imaging.
Part of Loudoun County Public Schools, Monroe
Technology Center is an instructional center that serves as
a site for 26 career and technical education elective courses. The instructional focus is to better
prepare students with the knowledge and skills for a wide range of careers requiring varying
levels of education from high school to post-secondary and beyond. Monroe Technology Center
integrates academics with career exploration in diverse fields that are constantly evolving due
to the changing global economy.
The first and second floor lobbies and hallways of the Leesburg Town Hall feature rotating
exhibits by Leesburg and Loudoun artists. Artists interested having their work considered for a
future exhibit in the Town Hall should contact Anne Geiger, staff liaison to the Commission on
Public Art, at ageiger@leesburgva.gov.
