MEDINA CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES OF DECEMBER 1, 2003
The City Council of Medina, Minnesota met in special session on December 1, 2003 at 6:40
p.m. in the City Hall chambers for the Truth in Taxation Public Hearing. Mayor Zietlow presided.
I. ROLL CALL
Members present: Lane, Zietlow, Smith and Brinkman (arrived at 6:55 p.m.)
Members absent: Workman
Also present: City Administrator Chad Adams
The public hearing was opened at 6:40 p.m.
Adams provided a presentation of the 2004 general fund budget, current and proposed taxes
payable, and current and proposed tax rates.
Tom Tarp, Joe Raskob, and Bob Raskob were present to hear the presentation and questioned
their 2004 taxable valuations.
Mayor Zietlow stated tonight's hearing is not intended to discuss the determination of assessed
valuations, but to hear comments on the general fund budget, 2004 taxes payable, and tax
rates. Zietlow briefly explained the process to challenge assessed valuations in the spring
through the City and County.
The public hearing was closed at 7:00 p.m.
Moved by Smith and seconded by Brinkman to adjourn the meeting at 7:00 p.m. Motion
passed unanimously.
