Mason Enterprise Center Hosts Quarterly HUBZone “Contractor
Chat” on January 22, 2018, in Leesburg
Small businesses interested in federal contracting or HUBZone certification are
invited to attend this free informational meeting.
Leesburg, VA (January 19, 2018) – The Mason Enterprise Center in Leesburg will hold its next
quarterly HUBZone Business Meeting on Monday, January 22, 2018, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00
p.m., at the Mason Enterprise Center in downtown Leesburg (202 Church Street SE). The
meeting is free and open to all small businesses. Lunch will be provided by Access National Bank.
This quarter’s meeting will focus on HUBZone employee strategies and HUBZone principal office
requirements. The featured speaker will be Brian Lederhous, SBA Business Opportunity Specialist,
who does first-level reviews of HUBZone applications. In addition, representatives from Leesburg-
based, HUBZone-certified contractors Lynker Technologies and Custom Software Systems will share
their experiences with the certification process and best practices for small government
contractors.
A program of the U.S. Small Business Administration, the HUBZone program helps small
businesses gain preferential access to federal procurement opportunities while increasing
employment opportunities in economically distressed areas. In an effort to assist local
businesses with navigating the HUBZone certification process, the Mason Enterprise Center and
Leesburg Economic Development Office have partnered with local business owners who have
completed the process successfully to present quarterly information sharing meetings.
