RESOLUTION NO. 97 -3560
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF TEMPLE CITY CONFIRMING THE
EXISTENCE OF A LOCAL EMERGENCY DUE TO
SEVERE STORM DAMAGE
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 71 -336 of the City of Temple City empowers the Director of
Emergency Services /City Manager to proclaim the existence or threatened existence of a local emergency
when said city is affected or likely to be affected by a public calamity and the City Council is not in session,
subject to ratification by the City Council within seven days; and
WHEREAS, conditions of extreme peril to the safety of persons and property have arisen within
this city, caused by severe storms and winds commencing on or about 9:00 a.m. on January 6, 1997, at
which time the City Council of the City of Temple City was not in session; and
WHEREAS, said City Council does hereby fmd that the aforesaid conditions of extreme peril did
warrant and necessitate the proclamation of the existence of a local emergency; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Emergency Services /City Manager of the City of Temple City did
proclaim the existence of a local emergency within said city on the 7th day of January, 1997;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY PROCLAIMED AND ORDERED that said local
emergency shall be deemed to continue to exist until its termination is proclaimed by the City Council of
the City of Temple City, State of California.
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED on this 7th day of January, 1997.
