HomeMy Public PortalAbout017-2000 - Grant - DNR Hometown IN Urban ForestryORDINANCE NO. 17-2000 AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL, ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM DNR HOMETOWN INDIANA URBAN FORESTRY WHEREAS, DNR Hometown Indiana Urban Forestry has grant funding available; and WHEREAS, the City of Richmond desires to submit a grant application to develop a tree plan and plant 87 new trees along North 12th Street between Freeman Park and South A Street and along North J Street between Chester Boulevard and North 12th Streets. NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, as follows: The City of Richmond is hereby authorized to submit a grant application to DNR Hometown Indiana Urban Forestry to develop a tree plan and plant 87 new trees along North 12th Street between Freeman Park and South A Street and along North J Street between Chester Boulevard and North 12th Streets. The City of Richmond is authorized to accept said grant funding in an amount up to Five Thousand Nine Hundred Twelve Dollars and Fifty Cents ($5,912.50). Said funds, if awarded to the City of Richmond, shall be appropriated for the development of a tree plan and planting of 87 new trees along North 12th Street between Freeman Park and South Street and along North J Street between Chester Boulevard and North 12th Streets.
