HomeMy Public PortalAboutResolution 97-3564 Election: Repeal Resolution which provide for the conduct of a Special Runoff Election1 RESOLUTION 97 -3564 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY REPEALING RESOLUTION NO. 90 -2939 WHICH PROVIDED FOR THE CONDUCT OF A SPECIAL RUNOFF ELECTION FOR ELECTIVE OFFICES IN THE EVENT OF A TIE VOTE AT ANY MUNICIPAL ELECTION WHEREAS, the City Council, on March 6, 1990, adopted a resolution with provisions for a special runoff election in the event of a tie vote at the April 10, 1990, election and at each municipal election thereafter; and WHEREAS, the City Council now desires a tie vote to be determined by lot; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY, CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That pursuant to Section 15651 of the Elections Code of the State of California, a tie vote shall be determined by lot, thereby repealing Resolution No. 90 -2939. SECTION 2. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution and enter it into the book of original resolutions.
