HomeMy Public PortalAboutLegal Ad Sewer Project 7.3.19ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS SEWER PROJECT Town of Watertown, Massachusetts Sealed bids for construction of CIP Project 1 Rehabilitations Contract No. 18-01S for the Town of Watertown, Massachusetts, will be received at the Office of the Purchasing Agent, 149 Main Street, Watertown Massachusetts 02472 until 11:00 AM prevailing time, on July 3, 2019 at which time and place said bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. The approximate scope of work includes but is not necessarily limited to: Open cut point repair of 645 1.f. of sewer, pipe bursting of 251 1.f. of sewer, replacement of 11 sewer service connections, installation of 11 sewer manholes, open cut point repair of 183 1.f. of drain, chemical root treatment of 2,8761.f. of sewer, installation of 18,295 1.f. of cured -in -place pipe and reinstatement of 301 services, installation of 6,4701.f. of structural cured -in -place pipe and reinstatement of 134 services, cutting 60 protruding service connections, cementitious lining of 1,072 v.f. of manholes, installation of nine (9) manhole frame and covers, building of five (5) manhole bench and inverts, and cleaning and inspection of 9291.f. of sewer and one (1) siphon. The work must be brought to substantial completion, exclusive of final paving and warranty re- test inspection, within 200 calendar days of the start date fixed in the "Notice to Proceed." Bid Security in the form of a bid bond, cash, certified check, treasurer's or cashier's check payable to the Owner, is required in the amount of five percent of the bid, in accordance with Section 00200, INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS. The Instructions to Bidders, Form of General Bid, Agreement, Plans, Specifications, Performance and Payment Bond, and other Contract Documents may be obtained for pickup at the Watertown Purchasing Department, located at 149 Main Street, Watertown, Massachusetts, Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m., Friday's from 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m., beginning June 17, 2019, or requesting by email to purchasing@watertown-ma.gov. The selected contractor shall furnish a performance bond and a payment bond in amount at least equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price as stipulated in Section 00700 GENERAL CONDITIONS of these specifications. Bidders attention is directed to the provisions in the Project Manual regarding Minority -owned Business Enterprise (MBE), Women -owned Business Enterprise (WBE) and Equal Employment Opportunity polices of the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA) are applicable to this Contract. All bids for this project are subject to applicable bidding laws of Massachusetts, including General Laws Chapter 30, Section 39M as amended. Prevailing Wage Rates as determined by the Director of the Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development under the provisions of the Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 149, Section 26 to 27H, as amended, apply to this project. It is the responsibility of the Bidder, before bid opening, to request if necessary, any additional information on Prevailing Wage Rates for those trades people who may be employed for the proposed work under this contract. By submission of a bid, the Bidder agrees that this bid shall be good and may not be withdrawn for a period of 30 days, Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays excluded after the opening of bids. The Owner reserves the right to waive any informalities in bids and to reject any or all bids.
