No. _ #O~-146 Date of AdoptìonM~y l..,--200.6 AUTHORIZING A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONTRACT WITH CME ASSOCIATES FOR THE ROOSEVELT AVENUE STREETS CAPE PROJECT - PHASE" \VHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret is in need of specialized engineering and land surveying services in connection with the Roosevelt Avenue Streetscape Project, Phase II; and WHEREAS, CME Associates, 3141 Bordentown Avenue, Parlin, New Jersey 08859, possesses the requisite experience and expertise to provide said services; and WHEREAS, CME Associates has submitted a proposal to provide said services at a total cost not to exceed $9,500.00 and WHEREAS, the Mayor and the Council have reviewed said proposal; and WHEREAS, the Chief Financial Officer has certified that funds are or will be available for said purpose. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and the Council of the Borough of Carteret, County of Middlesex, State of New Jersey, as follows: 1. The proposal from CME Associates for engineering and land surveying services related to the Roosevelt Avenue Streetscape Project, Phase II, at a total cost not to exceed $9,500.00 is hereby approved; 2. This action is approved as an award of a professional services contract pursuant to N.J.S.A 40A:11-5(1)(a) 3. A copy of this Resolution be forwarded to the Borough's Purchasing Department and CME Associates. Adopted this 4'h day of May, 2006 and certified as a true copy of the original on May 5,2006. It is our understanding that you desire to include the portion of Roosevelt Avenue within the limits of Washington Avenue and Industrial Avenue along the north side of the roadway. This section was originally intended to be constructed as part of the Alderelli Contracting, Inc. contract with a design provided by EKA Associates. It is our understanding that the final EKA design was not provided to the Borough. It should be noted that the approximate quantities for this section were included in our Phase II Plans with the intent of receiving the final design from EKA. Due to the existing conditions in this area, a full design of the improvements is required in order to alleviate the grading and drainage issues anticipated with the installation of full-face curb and sidewalk where it currently does not exist. With this in mind we offer the following scope of services. ý 1. Field survey and preparation of a base map 2.
