RESOLUTION NO. 97 -3583
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE
CITY DENYING GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT 96 -3, ZONE
CHANGE 96 -1288 AND ZONE VARIANCE 96 -1289 TO REDESIGNATE
AND REZONE PROPERTY ADDRESSED AS 6253 MUSCATEL
AVENUE FROM LOW DENSITY RESIDENTIAL (R -1) TO MEDIUM
DENSITY RESIDENTIAL (R -2) AND TO ALLOW A SECOND
DWELLING WITH VARIANCES FOR SIDE AND REAR YARD
SETBACKS AND PARKING (GABRIEL).
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES HEREBY RESOLVE:
SECTION 1. Based upon testimony received at a noticed hearing before the City Council and
upon facts contained in the staff report, as well as information and testimony contained in the Planning
Commission Minutes and the Planning Commission Staff Report, the City Council hereby denies the
request to redesignate the subject property as shown on the attached map labeled as Exhibit "A" from Low
Density Residential (R -1) to Medium Density Residential (R -2). Additionally, the City Council denies
necessary Variances regarding side yard and rear yard setbacks and parking criteria to permit a second
dwelling unit on the subject lot. The City Council's action is based upon the findings contained in Planning
Commission Resolution No. 97- 1844PC.
SECTION 2. The City Council hereby upholds the decision of the Planning Commission and
denies General Plan Amendment 96 -3, Zone Change 96 -1288 and Zone Variance 96 -1289 for property
addressed as 6253 Muscatel Avenue.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to passage and adoption of this resolution and enter
it into the book of original resolutions.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED ON 1ST DAY OF APRIL, 1997.

Council of the City of Temple City at a regular meeting held on 1st day of April, 1997 by the following
vote:

ABSENT: Councilman -None
ABSTENTIONS: Councilman-Brook
