AWARDING CONTRACT FOR
ROOSEVEL T AVENUE STREETSCAPE PROJECT TO
S. BROTHERS GENERAL CONTRACTORS
WHEREAS, on November IS, 2005, the Borough of Carteret received bids for
the Roosevelt Avenue Streetscape Project; and
WHEREAS, the lowest bid for said project, as evidenced by the submittals on
file with the Borough's Consulting Engineer and Purchasing Department, was
received from S. Brothers General Contractors, Inc., of South River, New Jersey,
in the amQunt of $2,260.934.00; and
WHEREAS, the Borough's Consulting Engineer for this project, CME
Associates, has recommended the award of a contract for the public work to S.
Brothers, as detailed in its recommendation of award letter dated November 29,
2005; and
WHEREAS, the Chief Financial Officer has certified that funds are or will be
available for said project.
'. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the
Borough of Carteret, County of Middlesex, State of New Jersey, as follows:
1. That the bid of S. Brothers General Contractors òf South River, New
Jersey, in the amount of$2,260,934.00 for bid items R-I through R-65 and
W-I through W-40, inclusive, for the Roosevelt Avenue Streetscape
Project, all in conformance with the bid specifications and contract
documents for the same, is hereby approved.
2. That the appropriate Borough officials are hereby authorized and directed
to enter into a formal contract with S. Brother General Contractors forthe
Roosevelt Avenue Streetscape Project as provided for herein.
3. That a copy of this Resolution be forwardedtothe Borough's Purchasing
Department and CME Associates for further distribution to S. Brothers.
