RESOLUTION NO. 97 -3620
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE
CITY APPROVING GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT 97 -1 TO
REDESIGNATE THE SUBJECT PROPERTY ADDRESSED AS 5800 N.
ROSEMEAD BOULEVARD AND 9007 ELM AVENUE FROM HIGH -
DENSITY RESIDENTIAL (R -3) TO COMMERCIAL (C -2) (WU/TAON).
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES HEREBY RESOLVE:
SECTION 1. Based upon testimony received at a noticed hearing before the City Council and
upon facts contained in the staff report, as well as information and testimony contained in the Planning
Commission Minutes and the Planning Commission Staff Report, the City Council hereby approves a
General Plan Amendment to redesignate the subject site as shown on the attached map labeled as Exhibit
"A" from High Density Residential to Commercial based upon the findings contained in Planning
Commission Resolution 97- 1857PC.
SECTION 2. This project should not result in significant affects upon the environment and a
Negative Declaration has been prepared in accordance with the State CEQA guidelines. The initial study
as prepared indicates there is no potential for adverse impacts to the environment as it relates to all wild
animals, birds, plants, fish, amphibians and related ecological communities, including the habitat upon
which the wildlife depends for its continued viability.
SECTION 3. The above - referenced General Plan Amendment to redesignate the subject site from
High - Density Residential to Commercial shall be subject to conditions contained in Planning Commission
Resolution No. 97- 1857PC. This General Plan Amendment shall not be effective until the required
Covenants as set forth in the Planning Commission Resolution are recorded.
SECTION 4. The City Council hereby approves General Plan Amendment No. 97 -1 to
redesignate the subject property identified on the attached map as Exhibit A from High- Density
Residential to Commercial.
SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to passage and adoption of this resolution and enter
it into the book of original resolutions.
