SPECIAL MEETING
APRIL 1, 2009
The City Council of the City of Lynwood met in a special meeting in the Council
Chambers, 11330 Bullis Road on the above date at 5:42 p.m.
Mayor Santillan presiding.
Council Members Castro, Morton, Rodriguez, and Santillan were present.
Council Member Flores was absent.
Also present were City Manager Haley, City Attorney Galante, City Clerk Quinonez and
City Treasurer Alatorre.
City Clerk Quinonez announced that the Agenda had been duly posted in accordance
with the Brown Act.

CONSENT CALENDAR
It was moved by Council Member Rodriguez, seconded by Mayor Santillan, to approve
the consent calendar and receive and file staff reports.
Item #3 RATIFICATION OF APPLICATION FOR EMERGENCY, ABANDONED,
RECALCITRANT OWNER FUNDS (EAR) FOR THE GARFIELD
EXPRESS SITE
RESOLUTION NO. 2009.048 ENTITLED:
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OF
THE CITY OF LYNWOOD TO TAKE NECESSARY STEPS TO ACCEPT UP TO ONE
MILLION DOLLARS OF EAR FUNDS TO REMEDIATE 11600 LONG BEACH
BOULEVARD

CITY COUNCIL ORAL AND WRITTEN COMMUNICATION
Council Member Morton commented on the Gifts for Guns program. He stated it was
fantastic event and many guns were turned in. He commented on the City of Compton
event.
Mayor Santillan commented on the Gifts for Guns program. She stated that other cities
are also hosting this event next weekend. She stated it was a great and successful
event. She commented on the press conference attended by the Governor. The Mayor
commented on a letter she received from the City of Fullerton regarding an upcoming
event they are hosting, Donate Life Run/Walk Family Festival.
ADJOURNMENT
Having no further discussion, it was moved by Council Member Rodriguez, seconded by
Mayor Pro Tem Castro, and carried to adjourn the special Lynwood City Council
meeting at 5:49 p.m.
