RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE SUBMITTAL OF A GRANT APPLICATION
FOR FUNDING THROUGH THE IOWA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
STATE RECREATIONAL TRAILS PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the City of Marcus, Iowa is desirous of submitting an application
to the Iowa Department of Transportation for the Iowa State Recreational Trails
Program for the Marcus Trail Plan — Phase 1.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Marcus Trail Committee is
authorized to submit a grant application to the Iowa Department of
Transportation through SIMPCO.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Marcus demonstrates its support
for the submittal of the Iowa State Recreational Trails grant application to the
Iowa Department of Transportation for Marcus Trail Plan — Phase 1. The City
further agrees to adequately maintain the completed project for its intended
public use for a minimum of twenty (20) years following the project completion
and the City is committed to contributing 25 percent matching funds.
This Resolution shall be effective following its adoption by the City Council.
Passed by the City Council this 10th day of July, 2023.
