Councilman Kerby introduced the following resolutions
RESOLUTION NO. 56.
Whereas, it appearing to the City Council of the City of Moab, Grand
County, Utah, that for the purpose of carrying on and defraying the current
°oats and expenses of operating the city government for the year 1948, that the
sum of $4,000.00 is necessary.
Now, therefore, be it resolved, that it is hereby ordered by the City
Council of the City of Moab, Utah, that for the purpose of defraying the current
costs and expenses of operating the city government for the year 1948, that the
City Counoil of said city borrow for and on behalf of said City from the First
National Bank of Moab, at Moab, Utah, the sum of $4,000.00, said sum to be payable
on or before January 1, 198, and to draw interest at the rate of six per vent
per annum from date, said sum to be used for the use and benefit of the following
fundst General Fund $1,000s Water Fund $1500t Bond Interest and Sinking Fund $1600.
It is further resolved by said City Council that Mayor :gars Pope, of said
City, for and on behalf of said City, exeoute and deliver to the said Bank the
negotiable promissory note of said City in and for the sum of $4,000.00, to be
dated January 8, 1948, due and payable on or before January 1, 1949, with interest
at the rate of six per cent per annum from date.

On motion by Councilman Kerby, seoonded by Councilman Robertson, the resolution
was oarried by the unanimous vote of all counoilmen presents Thereupon Mayor
Pope deolared the resolution oarried and signed the same in approval thereof.

On or before January 1, 1949, the City of Moab, in Grand County, Utah,
for value received, promises to pay to She First National Bank of Moab, or order, the
sum of Four thousand and no/100 Dollars ($4,000.00), at The First National Bank of
Moab, in Moab. Utah, with interest at the rate of six (8) per oent per annum from
date hereof until paid.
Said City further agroee to pay a reasonable attorneys fee in oase
suit shall be brogght on this note, said fee to be taxed as a part of the cost
in the suit.
This note is issued by the City Council of Moab, Utah, in conformity
to a resolution of said Council passed and adopted on the 5th day of January, 1948,
and under authority conferred upon said Council by the provisions of Section 15.8-8,
Utah Code Annotated, 1943.

for value received, promises to pay to The First National Bank of Moab, or order, the
sum of Four thousand and no/100 Dollars ($4,000.00), at The First National Bank of
Moab, in Moab, Utah, with interest at the rate of six (6) per cent per annum from
date hereof until paid.
Said City further agrees to pay a reasonable attorneys fee in case
suit shall be broaight on this note, said fee to be taxed as a part of the cost
in the suit.
This note is issued by the City Council of Moab, Utah, in conformity
to a resolution of said Council passed and adopted on the 5th day of January, 1948,
and under authority conferred upon said Council by the provisions of Section 15-8-6,
Utah Code Annotated, 1943.
