HomeMy Public PortalAbout12/05/67 CCMThe Council of the Village of Medina met in regular session Tuesday evening, December 5, 1967 at 7:35 P. M. Wayne Neddermeyer - Mayor in Chair Priscilla Arens - Clerk All members present. The minutes of the meeting of November 8, 1967 read. Moved by Rayburn Anderson that the minutes be approved as read. Seconded by Arthur Theis. Motion carried. Minutes of the Planning Commission meeting of November 20, 1967 read. Gene Sullivan of the Wright Hennepin Co-operative Electric Association appeared to meet the members of the Council and offered to be of any assistance in any way possible to help the Council in the future. James Kangas appeared with the final plats for Hickory Haven and gave the Village a check for $125.00 for Park fund and $150.00 for platting fees. Moved ty Raymond Bosch that we grant James Kangas final approval on his Hiokory Haven Plat. Seconded by Harold Winterhalter. Motion carried. Robert Scott, as a representative of the Northwest Chamber of Commerce, submitted a petition of appoximately 50% of the interested parties for the sewer system in the Hamel area. Moved by Harold Winterhalter that we accept the petition from the Northwest Chamber of Commerce and authorize the Village Engineer to conduct a preliminary engineer cost survey for sanitary se#er and sewage treatment plant in the Hamel vicinity as previously outlined in the feasibility report and to include the Brookview Country Club. Seconded by Rayburn Anderson. Motion carried. A letter regarding County road 4116 from the Hennepin County Highwa* Department was read and plans were studied. Moved by Harold Winterhalter to adopt the Resolution upon notification of approval of the plans by the Village Engineer and Village Attorney. Seconded by Raymond Bosch. Motion carried. Letter from the Soo Line Railroad with regard to signals on depot hill was read. The Clerk is to write the Minnesota Public Servile Commission re- garding same. A letter from the Hennepin County Library Board was read with regard to future building plans for the County. A letter from Gov. Levander was read reporting that a new state office of Local and Urban Affairs had been set up and David Kennedy is Director. Announcement made of the League of Municipalities meeting to be held Thursday evening, December 7, 1967 at 8' o'clock at the Golden Vallby Village Hall. Arthur Theis presented the Resolution with regard.to direct relief as miministered by the Suburban Hennepin County Relief Board.-- Moved by Raymond Bosch to adopt the Resolution with the Suburban Hennepin County Relief Board. Seconded by Rayburn Anderson. Motion carried. (Toted as follows: Arthur Theis, yes, Rayburn Anderson, yes, Raymond Bosch, yes,. Harold Winterhalter, yes; and Wayne Neddermeyer, yes. Mr. Gubbins reported on his investigation with regard to hours of selling off -sale liquor in the village. Under the fifteen mile'limit,off-safe liquor may be sold to 10:00 P. M. on Saturday night only - on week nights it may not be sold after 8:00 P. M. Rayburn Anderson reported with regard to further information from State Highway Department with regard to snow and ice removal. We can rent equipment after they are through with it. Harold Winterhalter reported that someone from Unicon will come out some time in the future to explain Civil Defense. Moved by Harold Winterhalter to pay the bills in the amount of $2706.91 for payroll and $1233.44 for order checks. Seconded by Arthur Theis. Motion carried. Moved by Arthur Theis that the meeting adjourn. Seconded by Rayburn Anderson. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 9:30 P. M.
