ORDINANCE NO. /69 383
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 29 (SEWERS AND SEWAGE DISPOSAL)
OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, BY ADDING
DEFINITIONS AND ADDING MAINTENANCE OF PUBLIC SEWERS.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Chapter 29 (Sewers and Sewage Disposal) Sec. 29-1 (Definitions and
Abbreviations) is amended by adding the following definition to read as follows:
Public Sewer. Any sewer district pipeline or sewer infrastructure maintained the City of
Jefferson.
Section 2. Chapter 29 (Sewers and Sewage Disposal) is amended by adding the
following Section 29-63 to read as follows:
Sec. 29-63. - Maintenance of public sewers.
No user, person, corporation, business, organization., licensee, or contractor shall
repair, maintain, clean, or modify public sewers without written permission granted from
the Public Works Director. Any user, person, corporation, business organization, licensee
or contractor that repairs, maintains, cleans, or makes permanent or temporary
modifications to public sewers without such permission shall be subject to all fines or
penalties allowed under law, including such administrative fines allowed under law, and
shall be subject to revocation or suspension of an license or permit granted to user, person,
corporation, business, organization, licensee, or contractor la the City of Jefferson, and
shall be liable for any damages incurred to private or public property as a result of such
repair, maintenance cleaning, or modification.
Section 3. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the date of its
passage/�and approval.
