HomeMy Public PortalAbout2023-10-16 pre-meetingCITY COUNCIL “PRE-MEETING” WORK SESSION, OCTOBER 16, 2023 CALL TO ORDER Mayor Ron Fitzwater called the October 16, 2023 City Council “Pre-Meeting” to order at 5:48 P.M. to review the agenda. ATTENDANCE The following Councilmembers were present when the meeting convened: Present: Ahlers, Deeken, Hensley, Lester, Mealy, Schwartz, Spencer, Spicer, Wiseman, and Wright Absent: None DISCUSSION OF AGENDA ITEMS Councilm ember Hensley will lead the prayer. Miscellaneous - Mayor Fitzwater will present a Key to the City to Dick Preston who recently retired from KRCG after 55 years on air. - Roxy Van Pool with Stephen Siller Tunnels to Towers Foundation will present the “Fastest Firehouse” award to Fire Chief Matt Schofield and participating firefighters. Public Hearings - City Staff presented pending bill 2023-046 which is scheduled for a public hearing tonight. Appointments by the Mayor - There is one recommended appointment up for consideration. Presentation from Staff, Consultants, and Invited Guests - Clint Smith, Director of Planning & Protective Services will provide a yard waste update. Consent Agenda - There were no questions at this time. Bills Introduced - City Staff presented their bills to be introduced. Bills Pending - City Staff presented their pending bill. Informal Calendar - Councilmember Hensley intends to take bill 2023-040 off the informal calendar. He asked Shiela Pearre, Director of Finance and I.T. to present the Budget Committee’s amendments CITY COUNCIL “PRE-MEETING” WORK SESSION, OCTOBER 16, 2023 to the Mayor’s presented budget before a substitute to the bill is offered (which includes the amendments). - Councilmember Ahlers intends to leave bill 2023-045 on the informal calendar. New Business - Councilmember Lester would like to discuss the removal of the Lincoln Student Representative from the City Council agendas. Resolutions - City Staff presented their corresponding resolutions. ADJOURNMENT The meeting adjourned at 5:57 P.M.
