HomeMy Public PortalAbout11-20-2014THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, NOVEMBER 20, 2014 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5:00 P.M., Thursday, November 20, 2014, in the Council Chambers at the Municipal Building, 50 North 5th Street, Richmond, Indiana. President Robinson called the meeting to order and the following business was conducted: ROLL CALL Board members present were: Vicki Robinson and Dick Foore. Absent was Tony Foster. Also in attendance were Kim Vessels, Assistant City Attorney; Karen Chasteen City Clerk; Police Lt. Donnie Benedict; City Attorney Walt Chidester; and, Media. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Mr. Foore moved to approve the November 13, 2014 minutes, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Mr. Foore moved to approve the November 21, 2014 Claims for Payment in the amount of Three Hundred Eighty Three Thousand Two Hundred Twenty Four Dollars and fifty seven cents ($383,224.57). Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. REQUESTS • NEW HANDICAPPED PARKING SIGNS 235 South 6th Street 1208 Crosshall Street Mr. Foore moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • HANDICAPPED PARKING SIGN RENEWALS 1215 North "C Street 408 Pearl Street Mr. Foore moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. BID OPENINGS • Gasoline /Fuel for 2015 Harvest Land CoOp was the single bid. This was taken under advisement for due diligence. BID AWARDS - None Board of Works Minutes November 20, 2014 CONTRACTS • CONTRACT NO. 131 -2014 — CSX TRANSPORTATION, INC A purchase agreement for the City to purchase property from CSX Transportation, Inc Not to Exceed $334,250.00 Mr. Foore moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. Mr. Foore moved to authorize Ms. Robinson to sign the contract on behalf of the Board of Public Works and Safety, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. Mr. Foore moved to rescind Contract Ho. 18 -2014, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. CHANGE ORDERS - None ADDENDUMS • CONTRACT NO. 154 -2012 — ADDENDUM NO. NO. 2 Bader Mechanical — maintenance to the heating and air conditioning in the Municipal Building Not to Exceed $6,768.00 Mr. Foore moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • CONTRACT NO. 2 -2013 —ADDENDUM NO. 2 Elite Clean — floor cleaning services in the Municipal Building Not to exceed $1,107.25 /month Mr. Foore moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • CONTRACT NO. 153 -2012 — ADDENDUM NO. 2 Earlywine Pest Control — pest control service for various city owned buildings and facilities Not to exceed $3,215.00 Mr. Foore moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. RESOLUTIONS - None PETITIONS - None MISCELLANEOUS • CONFLICT OF INTEREST DISCLOSURE STATEMENT Mr. Foore moved to approve the Conflict of Interest Disclosure Statement of Police Patrolman Chad Porfidio. Mr. Porfidio tinted windows for the Police Cruisers. This motion was supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried.
