AUTHORIZING AND AWARDING BID FOR WATERFRONT PARK-
PHASE II
- WHEREAS, the Borough has publicly advertised for the receipt of bids for the
WaterfTont Park project - Phase 11; and
WHEREAS, the Borough has solicited and received three (3) bid proposals for
the Waterfront Park project - Phase II as follows:
Total Amount
1. Zenith Construction, Harrison, NJ $ 525,250.00
2. Berto Construction, Rahway, NJ $ 555,636.00
3. V &K Construction, Edison, NJ $ 590,685.00
WHEREAS, Zenith Construction, has submitted the lowest bid for said contract
as evidenced by the response on file with the Borough's Purchasing Department
and with the Borough Engineer; and
\VHEREAS, the Borough Engineer has reviewed the above bid proposals and has
recommended the award of a contract to Zenith Construction, in a total amount
not to exceed $525,250.00; and
WHEREAS, the Chief Financial Officer has certified that funds are or will be
available for said purpose.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the
Borough ofCarteret as follows:
L That the appropriate Borough Officials are hereby authorized to
enter into a contract with Zenith Construction, 256 Grant Avenue,
Harrison, NJ for the Waterfront Park project - Phase 2 for the sum
of $525,250.00 in accordance in all respects with the request for
proposals and bid on same.
2. That a copy of this Resolution shall be fOr\Varded to the Borough's
Purchasing Department and Borough Engineer.
3. That the aforementioned award of bid is contingent upon formal
approval from the New Jersey Department of Labor and the
Division of Wage and Hour Compliance.
Adopted this 17'h day of May, 2006
and certified as a true copy of the
original on May 18, 2006.
