Nacy (arrived at 3:55 p.m.), Vice Mayor Neil Steinberg, Patrick Wilt (arrived at 3:37 p.m.),
and Mayor Kelly Burk.
Council Members Absent: None.
Staff Present: Town Manager Kaj Dentler, Town Attorney Christopher Spera, Deputy
Town Manager Keith Markel, Human Resources Director Josh Didawick, Human
Resources Analyst Stephanie Young and Clerk of Council Eileen Boeing.
International Association of Police Chiefs Representative: Kim Dine.

MOTION2023-071
On a motion by Mayor Burk, seconded by Vice Mayor Steinberg, the following was
proposed:
I move pursuant to Va. Code Section §2.2-3711(A)(1) of the Code of Virginia that the
Leesburg Town Council convene in a closed meeting for the purpose of interviews and
discussion of prospective Police Chief candidates for employment with the Town of
Leesburg.
Council convened in a closed session from 3:03 p.m.
Council convened in an open session at 5:48 p.m.
MOTION 2023-072
On a motion by Mayor Burk, the following was proposed:
In accordance with Section § 2.2-3712 of the Code of Virginia, I move that Council certify
to the best of each member's knowledge, only public business matters lawfully exempted
from open meeting requirements under Virginia Freedom of Information Act and such
public business matters for the purpose identified in the motion by which the closed meeting
was convened were heard, discussed or considered in the meeting by Council. (ROLL
CALL VOTE)
The motion was approved by the following roll call vote:
Cimino -Johnson — aye, Cummings — aye, Wilt — aye, Bagdasarian — aye, Nacy — aye,
Vice Mayor Steinberg — aye and Mayor Burk — aye

On a motion by Vice Mayor Steinberg, seconded by Council Member Macy, the meeting was
adjourned at 5:49 p. m.
